Yep, I really enjoyed this and I definitely believed that it improved as the story went on. I agree with the girl above, the oesophagus part threw me but keep in the slackening of the throat, I received a great visual image from that. There were some grammatical errors, but not worth mentioning here. Something else as part of my constructive criticism was that I didn't understand or connect in any way with the second character Riley. His fear of being kidnapped was a little too over dramatic because it wasn't explained in any great detail prior to his leaving. If it is a mystery than yes, make him fearful but I think you need to have a larger lead up to coerce your readers into understanding his fear.
I don't know if this is out of mistake or if you didn't get it or if you just didn't want to, but still…..
In short, I really liked your writing, it's that little bit more mature than the rest of the stuff on here and you described a very interesting story, I wanted to hear more and then you stopped! Good work and all the best of luck for the rest of it, I know how hard it is to write something and how much time and effort it does take!
