How to Purchase Cheap GPS

GPS devices are the answer of the modern world. It is known that men dislike asking for directions and they never recognize when they are lost, while women are scared of getting lost. in other words, GPS systems are great for everybody, regardless of their sex and age. Sales seem to have doubled lately and this is because people understand the importance of having a GPS unit, whether it is a cheap GPS or a more sophisticated one. Luckily for us, we have plenty of models to choose from and all we have to do is determine our needs.

The basic, cheap GPS is the one which establishes your location by means of the signals received from satellites. Available GPS devices are quite versatile nowadays, but so are their prices. The cheaper the unit is, the less features it has. However, all GPS units provide a map onscreen which has your route and your location highlighted. Furthermore, most GPS units allow you to zoom in and out for detailed views. It is a proven fact that GPS devices have extended their reach with all sorts of features such as color displays, selectable voices, waypoints on the road and others.

Although more complex GPS systems are more expensive, purchasing a cheap GPS doesn’t mean you will have to exclude the functions you like. If you are looking for an affordable GPS, we advise you to shop wisely. First of all, establish the budget you have at your disposal for purchasing such a device and start making smart purchase decisions. Those of you who don’t succeed in buying a cheap system can always look for discount GPS, which is a great solution because it will help you save money and at the same time it will be equipped with the features you are looking for.

Next, try shopping online for cheap GPS and discount GPS, since online stores offer you the advantage of checking out the available units and their prices at your leisure. Furthermore, most sites offer live operators and contact information and they allow you to see the different types of gps systems they have to offer. The internet is the best place for purchasing cheap GPS, although local stores offer you the benefit of taking home the product you liked right away.

Another good place for finding discount GPS are retail stores. There, you will find several choices as far as prices and variety are concerned and it shouldn’t be too difficult to find something that suits your needs and your budget. Once you have found an affordable GPS, we advise you to keep in mind the following things: verify the terms on the warranties and return policies, cheap items might be out of date or refurbished. Next, read some reviews about the discount GPS before purchasing it and make sure you check the ease of use and accuracy rating.  Last of all, do not purchase a cheap GPS that doesn’t have the functions you were looking for.

mostly due to the wave of new applications from the iTunes App Store. Again, this benefit is not unique to the iPhone 3G and if you are interested in that, I would recommend looking up used iPhones on eBay. (Sorry, we’ve already sold ours for $300+ each). I’d like to also mention the drawback of the carrier contract. Since the iPhone 3G is a worldwide release, I don’t want to dwell on the shackles of AT&T too much. As reported on the web, Canada has its hands full with Rogers as well. …

There are a number of models of the GPS. Which one?

Irrespective, your best bet is the listing from cnet.com. A great website proud of its objectivity, they list many vendors. They also offer comparable models from other manufacturers, and you can use them to make comparisons. They also have their own reviews. Be careful when reading the "public" reviews, as they are often written by company shills. BE SURE TO LOOK AT FINAL COST — many vendors make their money off the shipping or even "packing charge" or some such BS. Look for whether the vendor charges you tax, too. Go for "the bottom line" cost. Another tip — look for "rebuilt" or "refurbished" models. They often have the same warranty as new, and are 25-35% cheaper. GOOD LUCK!

That's about as cheap as I've seen it. There are some cheaper models out there but you get what you pay for. If you have a lap top you can get a receiver for about $100 and have GPS on there.

I like the mio gps. they just came out with the new model 320x it think. staples.com sells it for about 199.99 with free next business day shipping. You can drop teh price by 30-50 if you have a coupon. I use an older model, works great driving, and has an option ifyou travelign by foot. It has great accuracy. There are reports that the TomTom software works even better on a Mio device which might cost you a few bucks more to do, i have yet to do it.

the online rate is only for online purchase and home delivery. the delivery charge sometimes doesnt make it a good deal after all. if there is a ship to store option then yes you can pic it up at the store for the lesser price. if you use this same exact card to purchase at the stores on credit you should be able to online as well. under payment options just choose to pay via sams credit card. there are two numbers on your card if its also a credit card. try both but the correct number is the one that starts with i believe 101

You can compare those three devices side-by-side here:

    http://www.gpsreview.net/compare-gps/?gps=603-990-962

Of those three, I would eliminate the StreetPilot i3 from your list. It has a very small screen, doesn't use a touch screen display, and doesn't include pre-installed maps. It is the oldest device of the three you have mentioned and wouldn't be the best pick.

Of the remaining two, here are the primary differences. The TomTom ONE includes maps of Canada while the RM 2000 only has the US 48 states. The TomTom ONE is also a smaller size and weight, yet retains the same size screen so it will be more portable.

The TomTom ONE also has more advanced routing features such as advanced planning and the ability to create itineraries and save them for future use.

Here is a review of the TomTom ONE:

And here is info on the RM 2000:
